Doctor Appt. 12/9...heartrate was mid 120s to low 130s; quite a bit lower than last month...and quite a bit lower than our baby girl ever was! Could it be the long awaited boy? Daddy doesn't want to get his hopes up...so he isn't listening! According to the doctor, I have only gained 6 pounds...looks like this one is going to be like Peyton...stubborn to gain weight, but momma doesn't care...less to lose later!! :)
We have our Level II ultrasound scheduled for 8am, Dec. 21 in Louisville at the Children's Center at Norton's Hospital (which is right next door to Kosairs Children's Hospital). The ultrasound is done by the high risk doctor him/herself so we will know the results right then and there. Scott still hasn't decided if we are going to find out the sex or not. I think we are both leaning toward finding out, but who knows! If we do find out, it will be a fun surprise for Christmas!!
We are headed to a Mannheim Steamroller concert on Monday, December 20th in Louisville, so we are going to make a date of it and spend the night. The ultrasound is too early the next morning to get up from home after a late night!

Last Week's Appointment
I guess I forgot to post after my appointment last week. It was a crazy day! It started with the Veteran's Day program at the high school, that I decided to go to at the last minute. I'm all for any chance to see the band without worrying about the noise Peyton is making!!
So I didn't get another ultrasound...which she hinted at last time, but no biggie. I heard the heartbeat...it was high 150s, low 160s...so if you follow the old wives tales it is probably another girl. I have had a feeling from the beginning it is a girl anyway. Scott still hasn't decided if we are going to find out the gender this time or not.
Next appointment is Dec. 9 and we will schedule our Level II ultrasound in Louisville at that time. I hope they aren't busy and are easy to get into because it will only be 2 weeks away at that point. I hope we will be able to get in over Christmas Break so we both don't have to take a whole sick day.
I'm feeling a lot better these days. I am needing to eat more often to be able to feel better, but that isn't a totally bad thing! Nothing really tastes or sounds good all the time, so that is kind of a bummer. I have felt the baby move more and more as well. I felt it for the first time last weekend (about a week and a half ago) and it has been a little bit more frequent lately. After ice cream last night, it was pretty active!! I still just look "pudgy" but it is starting to look a little more "real". Others have noticed for a while now, but I know it is just "stuff" getting out of the way!

1st Appointment!
We had our first appointment on Friday. Scott was able to go with me. We got all settled in our exam room, then the nurse comes back and says, "come with me, she wants to do an ultrasound." Scott starts to get a little nervous...wondering why in the world she wants to do an ultrasound without even seeing or talking with us? I was a little concerned, but thought, cool...we get to see the baby already!! I was concerned she wouldn't be able to see the baby with the external probe and have to do it internally...yuck! But she honed right in on the baby and it was just kicking away! It even waved at us! She told us she might be able to see the sex if it was a boy depending on how it was laying...but it wasn't laying the right way at all. It was measuring a day ahead of even the due date they gave me (which was 1 day earlier than I had figured from things here on the internet). So we have an "official" "estimated" due date of May 10! She said we could find out the sex at the next appointment if we wanted to...I don't know if Scott has decided what he wants to do yet...
And of course we had the "Advanced Maternal Age" conversation. We were offered the Nuchal Translucency Test, which we would have to go to Louisville for. The doctor asked if finding anything out would change anything about the pregnancy (read between the lines, would we terminate). Of course we wouldn't do anything, so we have decided against the 1st trimester screens at least. She said that we also can have our 20 week ultrasound (the "big one") done in Louisville with a high risk doctor. The list of things they check for would be about twice as long as what the techs here in Madison check for. We haven't talked about that extensively yet, but I think that may be a possibility...just to see the baby longer!!
I have been fighting this cough for about 3 weeks now and I am sick of taking medicine (even though they say it is safe for me to take...) and sick of coughing. So Scott asked the doctor about it and she said she thinks I have pregnancy induced asthma. Has anyone ever heard of this? I haven't and neither has anyone else I have talked about it. I have an inhaler that I can use ever 4 hours. It seems to be helping a little bit, but I still have a little bit of a cough. She said that if it doesn't work after a few days, we would look into whether reflux would be causing it. I didn't think that sounded right because I don't have heartburn or deal with reflux ever...but who knows? I had a bad coughing fit again last night and it was about 1/2 an hour after dinner and caused me to lose my dinner...so who knows? Pregnancy is a crazy thing!!
Next appointment...November 11...(1st one on Britney's birthday, 2nd on Kendall's...sorry Parker, we missed yours!)

It is out there...kind of!
So it is out there for the world to find out...kind of. We haven't posted on Twitter or Facebook, but Scott did tell his students on Saturday (after they got a gold at distrcits...woo hoo!). So with a small town like Madison, I'm sure it is only a matter of time! I will wait to post on Facebook or send a Tweet until we hear the heartbeat next Friday. I am still a little leary of telling people, since there is still that small chance...but in 9 days we should be pretty sure!!

It is going too well!
So, I am actually concerned that this isn't real! I went and bought more tests this weekend just to ease my mind...yes, I am pregnant! But I have NO symptoms. Well, I have a few, but they can be explained away. I have no morning sickness, which by this time with Peyton, I had to be eating just about all the time so I wouldn't be sick to my stomach. I have no soreness. The only thing that remotely tells me I am pregnant is that I have to pee more often. But I am drinking more, so why wouldn't I have to go to the bathroom more often? :) My belly is starting to feel a little tight and my pants can be a little uncomfortable, but I have gained 2 pounds...I know, I know, the tests rarely lie, especially this far along. But it is so hard to convince myself it is real, when there is nothing "tangible" to base it on!
Scott is dying to tell his students...I think we might let the cat out of the bag this weekend! It would be really nice to have people to talk to about it!

Shhh...we aren't telling anyone yet!
So, no one is probably going to read this, but I thought I would try and get back into the swing of things before the fun begins! I still can't believe that we are pregnant again. I used to think I wanted my kids really close together, but I think this almost 3 years thing is going to be pretty great. Peyton should be fully potty trained by then and she loves babies! She told the grandmas that she is going to be a big sister, but I don't think she has any idea what it means. It still isn't totally real that I am pregnant either. I am having next to no symptoms (kind of like last time). I get a little sick to my stomach if I don't eat something pretty regularly and I have to pee every hour, but other than that things are great!! I am pretty bloated, it won't be long before I will be unbuttoning my pants sitting at my desk! I am definitely going to show earlier than last time! We are probably going to start telling non-family members in the next few weeks. I wanted to wait until at least 8 weeks, but I'm not sure if Scott will be able to wait that long. He wants to tell his students so badly!
Our first OB appointment is October 15...stay tuned. I hope to post after every appointment and if anything else exciting happens!
